Serving Omaha Metro

Bathroom remodels are one of the most common home improvement projects, and they all start the same way — tearing out the old stuff. Vanities that are caulked and screwed to the wall, tile that covers every surface, tubs that weigh hundreds of pounds, and shower surrounds that were built to last forever. Bathroom demolition in a small space creates a surprising amount of debris and dust. A1 Junk Removal and Tree Service handles bathroom demolition across the Omaha metro. We remove everything, haul it all away, and leave the space ready for your remodel.

We've torn out bathrooms in homes across Bellevue, Papillion, Elkhorn, and throughout Omaha. From small half-baths to large master bathroom suites with separate tubs and walk-in showers, we handle it all. One bathroom or multiple — we can demo them all in the same visit.

What We Remove

Vanity and Sink Removal

Single vanities, double vanities, pedestal sinks, and wall-mounted sinks. We disconnect the plumbing, remove the vanity from the wall, and haul everything away including the mirror and medicine cabinet if needed.

Bathtub Removal

Cast iron, fiberglass, acrylic, and steel tubs. Cast iron tubs are extremely heavy and often need to be broken apart to get them out of the bathroom. We handle all of it — removal, carrying, and hauling.

Shower and Surround Removal

Tile showers, fiberglass shower stalls, glass shower doors, and shower pans. We tear out the surround, remove the base, and clean up the space. Tile shower removal creates significant debris — we handle all cleanup.

Tile Removal

Floor tile, wall tile, shower tile, and backsplash tile. Bathroom tile is often set in thick mortar beds that make removal labor-intensive. We remove it all down to the substrate and haul away every piece.

Toilet Removal

We disconnect and remove toilets, cap the flange, and haul the old toilet away. If you're replacing multiple fixtures, we can remove everything in one trip.

Complete Bathroom Gut-Outs

Everything comes out — vanity, tub, shower, toilet, tile, flooring, light fixtures, and mirrors. We leave bare walls and subfloor ready for your contractor to start fresh.

How Bathroom Demolition Works

Bathrooms are tight spaces, so the order of demolition matters. We start by shutting off the water supply and removing the toilet and vanity first to create working room. Then we tackle the tub or shower, followed by wall tile and floor tile. Working in this order prevents us from stepping on debris while removing heavy fixtures.

Everything gets carried out and loaded onto our trucks as we go. Bathroom demolition creates a lot of heavy debris — tile, mortar, cast iron, and porcelain add up fast. A single bathroom gut-out can easily fill half a truck. We protect your hallways and floors during the carry-out and sweep the space clean when we're done.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a bathroom demolition take?

A standard bathroom demolition takes 3-6 hours. Larger master bathrooms with tile showers and cast iron tubs take longer. We can usually complete multiple bathrooms in a single day.

Do you shut off the water?

Yes. We shut off the water supply to the bathroom before removing any fixtures. If there's no individual shutoff, we'll use the main shutoff. We cap any open lines when we're done.

Can you remove a cast iron tub?

Yes. Cast iron tubs are one of the heaviest items in a bathroom — some weigh over 300 pounds. We often break them apart with a sledgehammer to get them out of tight spaces safely. We've done this many times.

Do I need to hire a plumber before you come?

Not usually. We handle basic plumbing disconnects — water supply lines and drain connections. However, if you have gas-powered fixtures or need lines capped to code for inspection, a licensed plumber should handle that separately.
